Our Community Commitments

Living Land Farm staff

We are employing locals who would not otherwise find employment, people with low educational achievements and ethnic minorities from remote villages, where their salaries are about the only cash income.

We provide free training for 3rd year students from the Agricultural College of Luang Prabang. We promote and run pilot schemes of rice trials among the local farmers and  in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of the District of Luang Prabang. We have successfully demonstrated planting techniques which result in a higher yield without the use of fertilizers.

We provide Scholarships for bright students at the Agricultural College of Luang Prabang.

We finance local farmers childrens schooling at the local S.O.S school. In Phong Van, where the farm is located, we help with improvements to the village, road sanitation and drainage. We help lobbying for a fresh water supply to Phong Van, where most of the villagers have no access to fresh water.

Our means to do so are limited, and there are constant demands on us to do more. With more outside help we will be able to make a tangible difference to people's lives.
